Subsidy rates (2023–2026 cycle)
The rate for the PV system varied by income category. The battery was subsidised separately, at a much higher rate.

Who qualified — Criteria & requirements
- Ownership or legal use of a primary residence with available roof space
- Active electricity supply in the beneficiary’s name
- An existing Connection Agreement with DEDDIE (HEDNO) — without an activated PV
- The system must include a battery storage unit (mandatory for households)
- No other PV subsidy for the same property

Subsidised 90–100%, capacity up to ~10.24 kWh — stores daytime production for the evening.

For the PV system: up to 75% (vulnerable households), 65% or 45% depending on income, 40% for farmers. For the battery: 90–100%. Plus +10% for special categories. Maximum grant €16,000 for households.
Were there income eligibility criteria?
Not for entry — everyone could apply. Income only determined the subsidy rate, based on three categories.
Was the battery mandatory?
Yes, for households. The battery was subsidised at a very high rate and raises self-consumption from ~30% to 70–80%.
